SEO Mistakes to Avoid at All Costs
SEO is an essential marketing strategy for all online businesses. If you’re not using SEO, then you’re missing out. You could have so much more traffic and conversions if you invested! Without SEO, people may not even find you at all. There are mistakes you can make when you use SEO, but these can easily be avoided when you know what you’re doing. Here are the SEO mistakes to avoid at all costs:
SEO Mistakes Most Website Owners Make
Not Using SEO At All
Not using SEO at all is probably the worst mistake you can make. You need to to get involved if you want great results from your business efforts! You really can’t get away with not using it, so don’t try. Just accept you’re going to have to use it to get to where you need to be.
Using Irrelevant Keywords
Irrelevant keywords might get you more traffic, but you won’t have qualified traffic. These people will simply be dismayed that they landed on your site when it has nothing to do with what they want. They’ll leave as quickly as they clicked, and you won’t have any conversions to be happy about. Only use relevant keywords with SEO to get the best results.
Focusing Too Much on the Top Spot
The top spot is nice, but it isn’t the be all and end all. Being on the first page is a brilliant achievement, and if you can get in the top 3 or 5 spaces that’s even better. People do venture onto other sites, so don’t worry too much about getting to the top spot. It isn’t all that important.

Doing it Yourself
In some instances, you can do a little SEO yourself. However, it’s always best to get a professional company to do it for you. You can learn different techniques, but do you really want to risk getting it wrong? Invest in help from a professional company.
Keyword Stuffing
Keyword stuffing is basically trying to trick the search engines into ranking your site. Don’t do it! When you get penalized for this, you’ll end up back to square one. And I say ‘when’ not ‘if’ because you will get penalized.
Duplicated Content
Duplicated content on your site is bad in the eyes of the search engines, so you need to make sure everything is original and that you have no two pages the same.
Stolen Copy
Stealing copy from other sites is a huge no-no. You need to write original content. The better you make it, the higher the quality and the more value it adds to your SEO campaign. Never steal copy from anywhere else!
Non Unique Title Tags and Meta Descriptions
These must be unique or they won’t have any value in your SEO strategy.
Failing to Check Your Analytics
How will you know how well your campaign is going if you fail to check your analytics? You need to keep a close eye on them to see how they’re doing, or you won’t know what to change and what to keep the same. You’ll be guessing!
Now you know which seo mistakes to avoid, you can set up a quality campaign!
